The 2022 Ford Escape comes in four trim levels: S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. The S rides on 17-inch wheels, while the SE swaps those for 17-inch alloy wheels and adds chrome exterior trim. The Cold Weather package on the SE adds heated outside mirrors and a remote engine start, whereas the Convenience package gets you upgraded headlights and a power liftgate, and the SE Sport Appearance package offers 19-inch black-painted wheels and black exterior styling elements. Engine (Power)

The standard engine on the 2022 Ford Escape S, SE, and SEL is a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine will get you 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque. The Titanium comes with a 2.5-liter hybrid mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission that garners a total system output of 250 horsepower. This engine is also available on the SE and SEL. There's also a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder available on the SEL and Titanium. It puts out 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque.

Performance

While front-wheel drive is standard on the three-cylinder and hybrid powertrains, the turbocharged engine has all-wheel drive as the standard. The all-wheel drive is available on the other two engine options to provide you with more control regardless of road and weather conditions.
