When it comes to choosing a new pickup truck, there is no shortage of excellent choices at your disposal. If you're on the hunt for a new truck this year, be sure to include the 2020 Ford F-150 near the top of your list of vehicles to test drive. Its top-notch performance features and unmatched number of trims and cab configurations make it a hard to option beat.
Trim Levels
The 2020 Ford F-150 has seven different trims available. The base trim on this year's release is the XL, which includes a black grille, 17-inch wheels, and black accents throughout. The next highest trim level is the XLT, and it includes 17-inch alloy wheels. Body-colored rub strips and chrome accents are also key differences between the XL and XLT.
The Lariat is the third trim on this year's F-150. It features larger wheels and turn signal indicators on the side-view mirrors. At this trim level, you'll also have a broader range of optional add-ons available. In the middle of the pack is the King Ranch trim, featuring colored bumpers and a two-tone paint theme. The King Ranch also adds chrome-tipped exhaust, trailer hitch lights, and spotlights.
Those looking for more off-road capability will want to see the Raptor trim. It features primarily black accents and embellishments. Other visual changes include a reduction in wheel size to 17-inches and two front-mounted tow hooks. The two highest trim levels are the Platinum and Limited trims. The Platinum trim adds 20-inch wheels and has the same visual features of the King Ranch but does not have the two-tone paint job available. The Limited trim has the largest wheels at 22 inches and chrome accents throughout.
Engine
You'll find no shortage of engine configurations on the 2020 Ford F-150. They run a large range of power and capability from 290 horsepower up to 450. The most powerful standard engine, a V-6 450-horsepower engine, is only included on the Limited trim.
Performance
All trims except for the Raptor have configurations for rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The Raptor is the only trim that doesn't offer a rear-wheel drive option. Depending on your trim and engine configuration, the 2020 Ford F-150 can tow between 5,000 and 13,200 pounds.
Interior
The wide range of cab and bed options allows you to customize the F-150's interior to your satisfaction. There are a lot of quality-of-life improvements on the new F-150 including a pro trailer backup assistant. This year's release also features all the most in-demand tech features such as the ability to create a Wi-Fi hot spot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility.
Safety Features
